About Us

The Turtle Lake Tap and Grill location has long been an anchor property for Turtle Lake with over 140 years of documented history. The current ownership started as a project by Jeff and Ann Hufford to revive and bring back the community feel to a lake that they have called home for over 20 years. They started a private equity company, and with Jeff and Ann as the lead investors, they called on neighbors within the subdivision to describe their vision and pursue investors. 8 families on the lake bought in and stepped up to make the concept a reality. This project could not have been realized without all involved. The company closed on the property, December 20th of 2019 and opened the restaurant in May of 2020. We have battled hard through numerous head winds (COVID and Inflation) for the restaurant industry and our customers have really bought in and supported what we are working to build at Turtle Lake Tap and Grill, which is a premier lakefront dining destination and gathering place.

We hope you get to enjoy our slice of heaven here in the Midwest!

What People Are Saying

“The burger I had was cooked perfectly. I also had the stuffed jalapeños and they were great! Great drink selection and local beers on tap. Outdoor seating options, and when you are done, there are chairs by the water you can use. Just ask before you head down as you need to switch to a plastic container. No glass off the deck area.”

“A hidden gem! We stumbled upon this place and it was worth the wait. The cheese curds were delicious, my chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked. The little ones enjoyed their chocolate milk and meals but the big hit was the service. The staff were great. Super nice to the kids and patient too. The only downside was I needed to change my 2-month-old’s diaper and when I got into the bathroom there was nowhere to do it so I had to go out to my car instead. Other than that I would go back to eat here and recommend it to others. The view of the lake was a nice bonus and I bet it's even better in the summer.”

“Food was great, the view was perfect… First time there; we will be back. We would like to mention that our lights were left on and we could not start our car, and the staff took the time to come help jump the car and stayed with us until we figured it out. What a great group. Special thank you to Bry, Nole, Andrew, and Nakita.. that was very kind of you to stay with us and help.”

We found the place quite by chance. We were looking for someplace to go after hiking in Carver Roehl Park. We found it on the map and are very happy we did. Located on the shore of Turtle Lake it has great outdoor seating overlooking the lake. I had the TL Spicy Chicken sandwich was excellent. My wife had the Chicken Quesadilla which was also excellent. We also had a Mai Ti and Tipsy Turtle for drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
